DON EGOLF

SUMMER SALE
You save up to 20% - Price was $26.95 ea.

(Chinese Redbud) Here's a new twist on our native Redbud: it's dwarf, sterile and blooms over the entire plant! DON EGOLF is a slow-growing, decidous, multi-stemmed shrub that, like our native redbud, has blooms that completely cover the bark from the ground to branch tips in early spring, but unlike our native blooms when still young. The flowers are an unusual and hard-to-describe colour of rosey mauve. These are followed by pretty heart-shaped leaves. Selected and named by the US National Arboretum after respected Cercis authority and hybridizer Dr Donald Egolf. Cercis like good drainage and full sun. Drought tolerant once established. So few of these have been grown that we don't really know the hardiness but recommend zone 6. Ht. and spread at maturity. 2.4m (8’).

Shipped well-rooted in our extra-deep 4.5" pots.
