CrocosmiaWALBERTON YELLOWAn amazingly floriferous new crocosmia hybrid from David Tristram of Walberton Nurseries in England. The erect, out-facing golden yellow flowers are a whopping 5cm (2") wide.
Blooms August to Sept. at 60cm (2').
They are bulbous perennials with slim, gladiolus-like foliage. The long wiry stems are topped with sprays of brilliant, lily-like flowers in mid-summer. Long-lasting, they make simply superb bouquets. Plant them 15cm. (6") apart in a sunny, well-drained location and you’ll end up with more every year.
Crocosmia can be over-wintered in the ground in zones 5 & 6 where there there is good snow-cover or with a heavy mulch.
Top size 10cm+ bulbs. |
