sieberissp. sublimis TRICOLOUREach amazingly-coloured bud is red-gold at the base, then creamy-yellow, topped off with purple. Opens to eye-catching, four-coloured blooms.
In all there are nearly a hundred species of these "early birds" of spring. We’ve chosen a few for you. Coming originally from the mountainous regions of southern Europe, they are hardy to Zone 4 at least (maybe more with some winter protection). They all bloom in early spring but not all at the same time. With some you’ll get bigger blooms on a taller plant (6"), while types half the height (3") will proudly deliver a whole bunch of flowers from one tiny bulb.
