Bulbs

SPRING 2010
With apologies to Gilbert and Sullivan “the flower bulbs that bloom in the spring tra la” can’t begin to compare with the vast selection of fascinating bulbs that bloom in our Canadian summer. To prove it (and to tempt you) we’ve brought in a great selection from all over the world. Many are exotic; none that we would call ordinary. There are tall varieties, and there are short. Some are fragrant, some are not. Some you can plant in the garden, others grow best in pots. There are a lot you can enjoy even if the kitchen windowsill or a balcony is the only “garden” you’ve got.

Few things are easier to grow and, given a modest care, can be enjoyed for many summers. We send detailed planting instructions with each order.

Most of these bulbs are tender and should be stored indoors for the winter. We’ve got storage instructions in the tips section of this page. Zone number indicates hardy bulbs.

Note: Bulb sizes indicate the circumference of the bulb.

All the bulbs we offer are nursery grown or propogated. NONE ARE COLLECTED.
We only offer the LARGEST BULBS AVAILABLE because bigger bulbs give you a bigger show.
